SERVING SIZESThis recipe makes two large, hearty sandwiches. The filling could easily be divided between three hoagie rolls to make slightly smaller sandwiches.
INGREDIENTS-
2 eight inch hoagie rolls
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
-
Banana Peppers sliced
-
½ medium onion sliced
-
12 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts thin sliced
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon pepper
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
4 slices of cheese - we recommend American cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a pan over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms once the butter has melted and begun to bubble. Stir occasionally until the vegetables are lightly browned and the onions have softened. Transfer them from the pan and set them aside.
3. Then use the skillet to cook chicken breasts over medium-high heat until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and slice into thin strips.
4. To assemble sandwiches, place chicken strips and vegetables on hoagie rolls, then top with cheese slices.
5. Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 5-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. After the sandwiches come out of the oven, add our Ladina's Famous sauce and enjoy!
